Always be aware of what materials you need to bring to class.

Be prepared for class. No, this does not mean just occupying a seat. It means being prepared to participate in discussions, and ready to take careful notes.

JS105 Students: It is highly recommended that you download the appropriate chapter outline before you start reading the corresponding chapter in the textbook, and fill in extra information as you read.  It will cut down on the amount of notes you will have to take in class, and will help you be prepared to answer questions in class.

Always have paper handy; you never know when you might have a pop quiz!

Unless announced in class, always bring your textbooks with you.

If you bring a laptop with you to class, there will ABSOLUTELY be no instant messaging/emailing allowed during class.

As a matter of courtesy, please turn off or silence the sound on all electronic devices that may make noise during class (e.g., cell phones, pagers, laptops, PDAs, etc.)
